MotivMfg’s first stand-alone store is located in a former factory complex built by the former DDR in the 1950s. Now known as the 798 Art District, it was one of the most important industrial areas in Beijing during the latter half of the 20th century.

Realized in collaboration with Polish architect Filip Galuszka, the store is planned rigorously around the original modular layout in the Bauhaus tradition, evoking distant memories of public spaces of a bygone age.
